Shepherd's buck, whose Latin name is 'Tribulus terrestris', is from the cumin family. It is a plant of Australian origin. It grows in Asia, Europe, and America. It is commonly found in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions of our country. It is an annual herbaceous plant that grows horizontally in the ground, leaves with green parts like ladders and leaves.

It is also known by the names of Wheel's thorn, Iron thorn, Camel's dent, Craneback, Shepherd's needle. It blooms with delicate-looking flowers of light yellow color. The fruit has horn-shaped spikes. The plant got its name from these thorny fruits.

From the shepherd's crushing plant; Shepherd's Tea, Shepherd's Butter, Shepherd's Extract, and Extract are produced.
