Carob for Kids

Carob for Kids
The end of summer is the beginning of preparations for winter. Dryers, jams, molasses are made. Why don't we prepare our children for winter while we prepare our kitchen so well for winter? It means that the bells of sickness have started to ring for the children, with the weather getting colder day by day and the opening of the schools. We have already started shopping for thick socks and woolen sweaters so that they are not affected by the cold. We have protected our children in appearance, but how do we support them internally? In this regard, carob comes to our rescue. It not only protects our children from the cold but also provides many other benefits. Carob is one of the most rooted plants in the world. First, BC. It is thought to have originated in Egypt around 4000 BC. The carob tree, also called carob, is a tree belonging to the legume family, which is always green and grows abundantly in regions with Mediterranean climate characteristics, usually without being cultivated and without the need for any artificial additives during growing. In our country, fried carob pieces, which are produced from carob fruits, are mostly used instead of chocolate, especially in bakery products, pastry, and confectionery products, and low-calorie snack products. Thus, instead of feeding your children chocolate, you can eat carob for snacks. The fruit is ground into flour and this flour is mixed with milk and used as an alternative to cocoa. It has been found as a result of research that there is no caffeine in the carob fruit and that this fruit contains vitamins A, B, B2, B3, and D and high amounts of calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium minerals. Carob is a helpful food for the physical and mental development of children. Since it contains vitamin E and theophylline antioxidant, it is beneficial for diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, flu, and cold. It relieves cough and provides relief. It has expectorant properties. Thanks to its high content of minerals (potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, etc.) and vitamins, it has very beneficial effects on blood pressure, liver and lungs, and many other tissues.Carob tree fruits can have an antioxidant effect. In this way, it can help kill cancer cells. A study published in the March 2011 issue of the journal Plant Foods for Human Nutrition investigated the antioxidant and cancer-fighting effects of carob tree flower seed extract. Researchers found that carob flower extract is rich in phenolic content or natural plant components, and they determined that it has significant antioxidant and cytotoxic (cell-killing) abilities that reduce the survivability of cervical cancer cells.
Also, scientists have identified theophylline, the most common antioxidant in the carob tree flower seed. Although the results are positive, additional clinical studies are required to definitively prove the efficacy of carob antioxidants in cancer treatment.
